HOW BO KNOWZ LEARNING GOT STARTED
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. For over 30 years, I have served in public education as a teacher, vice principal, principal, director, and assistant superintendent of schools. I loved engaging in professional learning and applying what I learned to be a more effective teacher and leader. The more I knew, the more I wanted to innovate curriculum, instruction, culture, and climate to make a difference in children’s schooling experiences.
I was working on designing Personalized and Blended Learning models when the pandemic hit, thrusting education into remote mode. Clearly, we had to pivot and make changes, which will no doubt last beyond Covid-19. Our curriculum needs to be relevant, reflecting current topics and engaging kids in deep, application-based learning experiences. Kids need to have ownership of what and how they learn and make meaningful connections with their lives. We must innovate our curriculum and integrate technology to support creativity, imagination, and deeper learning experiences. Social-emotional Learning skillsets must be fully integrated into our delivery of instruction and explicitly taught, modeled, and practiced. As my wheels started turning, with my laptop on overdrive, Bo Knowz Learning was created while I was working on my couch with my dog Balboa (Bo).

Hi there! I'm Dr. Kimberly Honnick
Dr. Honnick has served in public education for 30 years in teaching and administrative roles. She has presented at various conferences domestically and internationally. In 2017, Dr. Honnick was awarded Learning Forward’s Principal as Leader of Professional Learning Scholarship. In 2020, GFEL (Global Forum for Education and Learning) awarded her as one of the Top 100 Leaders. Dr. Honnick advances curriculum and instructional designs and empowers stakeholders to transform their practice through coaching and leadership opportunities. She leads instructional programming, professional learning, and coordinated services, including designing innovative practices, maximizing staff talent, and aligning partnerships. Dr. Honnick serves as Secretary on the Executive Board of Learning Forward New Jersey and is president-elect for 2023. Passionate about supporting future educators and leaders, she serves as an Advisory Board Member for Pace University Lubin School of Business Transformative Leadership Program. She is the Founder and Chief Vision Officer of Bo Knowz Learning, LLC. She is passionate about Leadership, Special Education, Student Support Services, Technology, and Personalized Learning and has served as an expert in these fields.

Bo Knowz Leaning is Dedicated to the Loving Memory of Patricia Podesta
Pat Podesta was Kim's cooperating teacher at Glenfield Middle School in Montclair, New Jersey where she served as teacher for over 20 years. Pat quickly became Kim's mentor, best friend, and other mother. She was an amazing person and teacher whose legacy lives on in the children she served. Pat passed from cancer in December, 1994. She is dearly missed each day. Kim and Bo strive to serve kids, parents, and teachers with the passion, commitment, and dedication Pat did. I love you forever, Patty P. xo
